Codonopsis Root 纹党参｜党参条・党参节｜Multiple Grades

Codonopsis Root, commonly known as 党参, is a traditional dried ingredient widely used in Chinese cooking and herbal soups. It has a naturally mild aroma and subtly sweet, earthy flavour that complements chicken soup, pork-rib soup and nourishing herbal broths.

Choose between:

• 党参条: Longer root strips with a more complete appearance, suitable for retail presentation, gift packs and traditional preparations.
• 党参节: Roots cut into shorter sections for easier measuring, preparation and everyday cooking.

Several grades are available based mainly on the roots’ thickness, appearance, uniformity and overall selection. As Codonopsis is a natural agricultural product, its colour, size, shape and surface texture may vary between batches.

Preparation guidance

Rinse briefly under clean running water before use. Soak for approximately 10–15 minutes if preferred, then add to soups or broths and simmer thoroughly with the other ingredients.

The required quantity and preparation method may vary according to the recipe and personal preference.

Storage instructions

Store in a cool, dry place away from heat, moisture and direct sunlight. Keep the package tightly sealed after opening. Refrigerate in an airtight container for longer storage, particularly in Singapore’s warm and humid climate.
